Professional Land Consulting for Industry and Landowners

Jim Stout is a graduate of Penn State University and holds a Certified Professional Landman designation from the American Association of Professional Landmen. He has been involved in real estate since first being licensed in North Carolina in 2005. During the later 2000’s, Jim leveraged his real estate knowledge to earn a position in the natural gas industry as a land professional. He has participated in all aspects of resource development from site selection, permitting, and right of way purchasing to business development. He managed site-selection, survey, civil engineering, entitlements, damage negotiations and rights of way to support construction of the 5- acre pad sites necessary for shale drilling, which were accompanied by 2-to-3-million-gallon water impoundments and access roads all-encompassing over 20 acres of disturbance for each site. Jim also coordinated the leasing, title and joint venture aspects of shale development for one of the largest producers of natural gas in the United States where he supervised over 50 in-house and contract leasing agents amassing over 50,000 acres of new leasehold position for the company. He was also responsible for a team of Business Development professionals, charged with the responsibility of negotiating and executing partnerships to develop natural gas resources. His team originated opportunities for partnership, completed financial analysis and lead negotiation and execution of joint ventures, joint operating agreements, acquisitions, divestitures and trades up to $250MM in value with some of the largest energy firms in the world.  Jim now wears several hats, selling residential real estate alongside his wife, Jennifer, and working as a Land and Business Development Consultant for the energy industry including Solar and Wind development. He also participates in developing commercial real estate for self-storage as well as residential real estate development.
